Materials Used

The manner and setting in which the stone will be displayed is the best determiner of the type of stone to be used. In a more formal garden setting, a dimensional stone often fits best, such as bluestone, slate, or Indiana limestone.

If a more natural look is preferred, we use granite fieldstone, flagstone, or tumbled river rock. We prefer to gather our own stones locally – it provides more satisfaction in the process of creating the piece, plus we can control our impact and leave things better than we found them.
